Floyd Anthony Dick was born on January 22nd, 1924 in Ocean Springs, Mississippi to Winifred Isabell (Alley) Dick (April 17th, 1900-July 12th,1977) and Benjamin Joseph Benedict Dick Sr. (May 9th, 1892-January 25th, 1967). Both Winifred, nicknamed Winnie, and Benjamin Sr. lived in south Mississippi all their life and settled in Pascagoula, Mississippi. Winifred and Benjamin Dick were married on March 31st, 1916.

During World War I, Benjamin Joseph Benedict Dick Sr. was a Seaman in the Navy, setting a precedent as two of his sons, Malcolm “Willie” Dick and Floyd Anthony Dick, would also join the United States Navy for World War II. At the time of being drafted, Benjamin Dick Sr. was 25 years old, having already married Winifred and fathered baby Benjamin Dick Jr. According to his draft card, he considered himself self-employed. Winifred completed an eighth-grade education prior to marrying Benjamin Sr. at just 16 years old, becoming a homemaker and mother to her many children.

Though he lived in Escambia County, his actual registration place was in South Carolina. At the time of enlisting, he was unemployed with no children. He was described as having ruddy hair, brown eyes, and was 5’7’’. Benjamin J. Dick Jr. survived the war, later moving to California sometime in the 1950s. He died on November 12th, 2005.
Three years after Benjamin Jr. was born, Winifred gave birth to Malcolm (Willie) Dick on January 17th 1919. Malcolm Willie Dick was unmarried, and he registered at 21 years old on October 16th, 1940. At the time, he lived with his parents at 600 Lincoln Avenue in Pascagoula, MS. He worked at R.G. Wingfield at the Texaco Station prior to enlisting. He never married, and he passed in Pensacola, Florida on April 8th, 1995.

Mamie (Winnie) Dick was born around 1928 or 1929. Mamie Dick married Ernest Loudermilk on July 11th, 1977 in Scott, Tennessee. Ernest had a daughter from a prior marriage named Wanda Faye Pennington.
Twins Jeannine and Jeanneave Dick were born on October 21st, 1938. Jeannine Dick married Lonnie E. White and had three children named Bryan, Joanne, and Angela.
